About MLG

Moss Leather Goods was set up in 2003 to prevent Philip Moss and his family from declining into genteel poverty. Its objective was to show that leather shooting accessories need not cost any more than modern, heavily-branded, machine-made alternatives. In addition to its range leather shooting accessories, MLG now offers belts, jerkins, luggage and personal accessories. You can buy stock items directly from this site (using Paypal's secure payment system) or from one of our stalls at markets and game fairs across the UK (see events page). Bespoke items will take around a month to complete but this varies depending on when you order them in the year.  Please Note:  Although my superpowers include a god-like control over the delivery and postal systems of the United Kingdom, I have undertaken with the Almighty not to use them for business purposes.  The ordered goods are in a queue and I send these by the most secure and swiftest means possible. Repeated requests to meet this Christmas or that birthday merely delay this system as I have to reply to emails instead of getting on making the ordered leather goods.

About MLG Products

I try and make leather goods which are both simple and useful.  I like the look of a lot of equipment from the interwar period and tend to use historical military designs as a starting point for a product. For one-off items, I prefer to use vegetable-tanned leather but when making a stock item I turn to chromium-tanned leathers in the interests of price and volume.

I have no problems in using old brass parts, if I can find them, or new castings, if I cannot.  I like the idea of over-engineering as it is redolent of not just meeting but surpassing customer's expectations. However, nothing is perfect and I try to deal with customers' complaints to ensure a happy outcome.
